A Child's Heart

Part 2 of the poem streak.

"We were just kids, Invited to an adult war Then all of the sudden We weren't kids anymore.

Then as the rockets ran red, And our hearts bled true The clouds went black the sky no longer blue.

They told us when we went, That it wasn't the end. That the friends we left behind, We would see them all again.

They lied, oh they did. From the very start. The war didn’t break my body It broke a child's heart”
