Riptide Tales
Revolution! The archipelago has been holding its breath for years, waiting for the tense relationship between the monarchy and the people to finally snap. Until Arthur accidentally commits a crime a little outside of her paygrade and sparks the flame of revolution. Initially she tries to go underground and wait it out, but fellow thieves and lower-class citizens are coming to her for help and direction. Apparently it's up to her to lead them.
Crap.
Fireheart
"-and when we have nothing left to lose, then all we can gain is everything!" Fiona shouted the last bit, aiming her sword at the sky as she rallied her people to the cause. It was nearly an hour later before Alex could get her attention.
"Congratulations Fiona, you are now a revolutionary."
Grinning at him, Fiona shot back with her signature wit.
"Oh dear cousin, I was always a revolutionary. I just hadn't found the revolution yet!"
When Fiona Theracuse decides that her estranged father has held his tyrannous reign for too long, she takes his downfall into her own hands. Her cousin Alex is swept up into the mess as her second in command, and the fight is on. But despite her brave words, they do have a lot to lose. And there aren't that many people willing to rise to her call. Until the king retaliates by stealing away what sunlight they had left. Usually fear is connected to the darkness. However, the people of the land have grown too used to living there to feel that fear any longer. And Fiona's call is answered. The only question left is, can they win? Alex has his doubts. Fiona won't accept any other possibility. So everything is up to the people.
Meet Crystal.
My name is Crystal. I'm Fiona's mother, and King Regolith's wife. When Fiona was 4 years old I decided to make a run for it and take her back to live with my people in safety. I knew my husband would retaliate, but it was worth it to see her grow up free. Until freedom began to grow in short supply for everyone. Fiona will tell her own story, she always has. And Alex's is connected to hers now, for better or for worse. But long before they were born I had my own story, In which I fell in love. With a man named Regolith. He was good back then, I promise. Things were never supposed to end this way. It is a story that I am going to tell you. One that must be told for you to understand who he was and who he has become. And why, despite everything, I can't stop loving him.
Coming Soon
This is a story in progress. There are just a few wispy story strands I'm grasping at, but I've got a good feeling about it. I'll give you a hint though, it is my first jab at historical fiction. ;) Hopefully I'll update this one soon, and get some more information. In the meantime, have fun wondering!
